Meharry Medical College’s Center of Excellence (COE) for Clinical and Translational Research transforms scientific discovery into meaningful action for the communities that need it most. With a strong commitment to advancing human health, the COE advances translational, community-based, and multi-center clinical research focused on improving prevention, treatment, access, and outcomes for underserved populations.

The Center provides comprehensive support to investigators across all phases of clinical research and across clinical specialties. From study feasibility review and protocol design to regulatory preparation, participant recruitment, data collection, biological sample processing, and research implementation, the Center serves as a trusted partner in moving research from concept to completion.

Its robust infrastructure includes regulatory and ethics support, biostatistics, workforce development, sample processing, research pharmacy services, CITI-trained nursing staff, outpatient and hospital-based research support, and monthly translational research training. Through community-engaged partnerships, the Center also connects volunteers to clinical trial opportunities, including ResearchMatch, and helps ensure that diverse communities are represented in research that shapes the future of health care
